Food Waste Collection in Hastings

Food Waste Collection for Hastings Customers

JM Waste Management provides commercial waste collections, skip hire, grab hire, clinical waste, and confidential shredding services across Hastings and the surrounding area.

Hastings is one of our busiest service areas — from the Old Town and seafront businesses through to the commercial estates at Queensway and the growing residential developments across the town. We cover all waste streams for Hastings businesses and arrange road permits and bay suspensions for skip placements on Hastings' often narrow and busy streets.

How our food waste collection works

Food waste is a significant and growing challenge for businesses in the hospitality, retail, and food production sectors. UK legislation increasingly requires businesses to segregate food waste, and disposing of it incorrectly carries serious penalties.

JM Waste Management provides a dedicated food waste collection service, collecting organic waste in locked, sealed containers that prevent odour and pest ingress. We collect on a frequency that prevents build-up — whether that's daily, twice weekly, or weekly.

Crucially, 100% of the food waste we collect is diverted away from landfill. It goes to an approved anaerobic digestion facility where it is converted into biogas for renewable electricity generation, with the residual digestate used as a sustainable agricultural fertiliser.

This means our food waste service doesn't just keep you compliant — it actively contributes to your business's sustainability credentials and carbon reduction goals. We provide full documentation of the treatment process, which you can include in your ESG reporting.
